The base and the door frame are different color of wood from the main body. I believe that the owner was going to stain the wood to match.

It has the gong, alarm movement with bell (it works when winding). The door opens and closes just fine. On the back it has a written date of April 9 09. Measures: 25" inches tall x 16" inches wide x 5 inches deep.
