Antique Seth Thomas 8 day time and strike adamantine mantel clock
Listing an antique Seth Thomas 8 day time and strike mantel clock. This model (Sucile) was made around c. Beautiful tan and brown Brazilian onyx adamantine with large half columns and small round cellouid columns on each side of the dial. Case shows areas of wear under the dial, and a few areas where the adamantine was repaired. Feet, column tops and bottoms have all been refinished to match.
Clock has its original dial and solid brass bezel. Case has been cleaned and lightly oiled. Shows a ding on the left side just above to foot.
Clock measures 17 1/2 inches wide by 8 inches deep by 11 inches tall. An original stamped Seth Thomas 89C 8 day movement has been cleaned, re-bushed where needed, oiled and bench tested.
Movement runs and strikes as it should. Movement strikes the hour on the hour and strike a brass cup bell once on the half.
A great piece of Seth Thomas history. Clock shows areas of wear from years of use and still displays well.Clock is easy to wind, easy to set, and easy to clean. Clock will set safely on an19 inch wide shelf or mantel at least 9 inches deep. Double ended key, adjustable pendulum and easy set up instruction included.
