Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine 8 Day Mantle Clock 1890's Serviced & Running. This is a rather unusual model "Adamantine" finish 8 Day time and strike mantle clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co.

In Thomaston, Connecticut during the 1890's. The signed Seth Thomas movement has been cleaned and is in good running condition, keeping time and striking properly, counting the hour, i. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc. And announcing the half hour with a single gong. Although having lost its lustre, the heavy cast metal bezel and dial assembly is in good condition.

The paper dial is newer, but installed over the old metal dial pan. It has the tan marble-look Adamantine trim against the solid black Adamantine body, which appears to have been treated with a light coat of lacquer or other similar finish at some point over the years. The "Adamantine" finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800's, is in fairly good shape for its age. With almost all Adamantine finish clocks, you will notice a little shrinkage at the corners and edges, and some cracking here and there, with minor dings, dents and scuffs, which is the nature of the Adamantine finish. It is a thin laminate over soft wood and so shrinks, cracks and dents fairly easily with just normal use over time.

The measurements are 17" wide x 13" high x 7 deep. This clock comes complete with a key and pendulum and is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy. This helps insure that the new owner will have a satifying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem.

All sales are final, (with the exception noted below). It is nearly impossible to find one in "mint" condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is running properly when it arrives...
