This is a gorgeous, restored Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantel Clock. The case was cleaned & polished to a high sheen and the gold etching was re-applied.
The column capitals and bases, as well as, the feet were all re-plated with copper and sealed so not to tarnish. The feet have felt applied so not to scratch the surface where it is placed. The face and bezel are very unique on this model. The bezel is a very heavy cast brass with a very thick beveled glass.
The face was replaced, sealed and coated and resembles a porcelain face. The movement was disassembled, cleaned and the bushings were check for wear. The gong is for the hour and chime bell for the half hour and comes with a Seth Thomas Key for winding and speed adjustment. This is an antique and should be treated as such.Adamantine is a type of plastic that was used primarily by Seth Thomas and can scratch and fade if not handled with care or placed in direct sunlight. I do all the restoration work on my clocks and nothing is sourced out, so I know the clocks inside and out.
If broken or damaged a claim should be filed with the carrier. Please refer to pictures for current condition and appearance.
