Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantle Clock Six Column Brass & Copper Trim
ESTATE FIND: Antique Seth Thomas Very Heavy Adamantine 8 Day Chiming Mantle Clock 6 Pillar with Lion Head Handles on Sides. Made in the United States of America printed on the clock face and also on the Solid Brass Works inside the clock. Clock is Marble with Brass and Copper trim and a heavy wooden case and back.
It has a glass face on the front of the clock that opens to use the key and wind the clock. The interior clock works are all solid brass, as is the trim around the face of the clock. It comes with the Brass Key, Pendulum and hand written instructions. Clock is a time and strike 8 Day signed movement, striking the hours on a cathedral coiled gong and the half hour on a crisp sounding bell.
Clock will work for a few seconds but then stops. It appears to be wound too tight. This clock will need some repairs due to it not working at present (seems to be wound too tight but we do not know for sure) and will most likely need a tune up and cleaning. There is some cosmetic wear, as expected with age. The face of the clock has some discoloration.
