Made in 1905-April -DURBIN MODEL. The clock is in Excellent.

The movement clock was cleaned and checked for several weeks, has totally serviced(ultrasonically cleaned from dirt and old oil) and adjust by Professional clock specialist , has been oiled, mainspring cleaned and oiled with professional clock non abrasive oil , , clock is ready fo r another 50 years to go with tak ing care (oiled every 2 years). A Bell and is very strong runner. Chimes the Hours counting them and every half-hour, You also can see on picture how all clock is clean after cleaning including mechanism. Clack has nice Tick-Tack sound of work.

Movement is marked with ST-(SETH THOMA S) , Clock measures 15" Base x 6 1/2" deep x 12 height. In diameter with glass without any damage. I dont know name of the clock, but maybe some help me?? Every piece on this clock is original. I will include a copy of ST "Guarantee Certificate"(see picture). Rug and Cleaner in the plastic container for Adamantine dust cleaning. History of Seth Thomas Adamantine Antique Mantel Clocks. In the 1860s, French clocks in slate, onyx or marble cases became popular in the United States. These cases were expensive, so the American clock manufacturers produced similar looking cases made of iron or wood. These clocks have become known to collectors as Black Mantel Clocks, and were popular from 1880 to 1931.

Seth Thomas made clocks in marble cases for a short time, from 1887 to ca. They also made clocks in iron cases finished in black enamel, from 1892 to ca. Seth Thomas is well known for their Adamantine black mantel clocks, which were made starting in 1882. Adamantine is a celluloid veneer, glued to the wood case.

Adamantine veneer was made in black and white, and in colored patterns to clock fas wood grain, onyx and marble. Adamantine veneer was developed by the Celluloid Manufacturing Company of New York City, and was covered by U. Patent number 232,037, dated September 7, 1880.

This clock is an antique. Many of them are over one hundred years old, and while well restored, the evidence of their age is apparent. Yet this is precisely where they hold their beauty and aura. PLEASE VISIT MY OTHER AUCTIONS.
