Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working SETH THOMAS Fancy Victorian Adamantine Mantel Shelf Clock, made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company Thomaston Conn. It has a Beautiful Footed Victorian Brown Marble Swirl Adamantine Veneer Case with Matching Dual Pillar Columns on Each Side Of The Dial, and Lion Head Side Handles! The Original Maker's Label is On The Back.
The White Porcelain Dial has a Brass Center Ring with Ornate Brass Outer Ring and Heavy Bevelled Glass Bezel. It has a Seth Thomas Brass Mechanical 8 Day "Time and Strike" Key Wound Movement, which Works and Strikes Correctly! The Movement is signed "ST" on the Back, and "ST USA Thomaston Conn" on the Front.
It has a Cathedral Coil Spring Gong Chime which Strikes Once on the Half Hour, and the Correct Amount Of Times on the Hour for the Time! There are 2 Winding Arbors, and It includes a Winding Key and Pendulum. 17" Wide x 11" Tall x 6 3/4 Deep. This Clock Runs Strong and Keeps Time and Strikes Correctly!
