Seth Thomas Art Deco Clock Electric Wooden Mantel & Key 1940 Westminster Chime
Seth Thomas Art Deco Electric Wooden Mantel Clock Circa 1940 with Westminster Chime. Model T-50 as noted on the bottom of instruction sheet on back cover. Original key is with clock and noted in photo 6 attached to clock. Mid century Seth THOMAS clock with wooden case and gilt floral garland (very unique) to front dial with Arabic numerals, hour and minute hands. Dated on instruction sheet as November 1940 (4011 see photo).
Someone wrote and asked about the hole that appears between numbers 4 and 5 in the dial. It is on the instruction sheet and it is in the instructions number 6 quoted here: 6.
Silence chimes-use key toturn arbor locatedon out edge of dial between digit number 4 and 5. Unique gilt metal floral garland in front (have not seen any other Art Deco clocks with this design). Yes, it keeps time and chimes work. It has to be set up correctly. There are instructions on the back for this.
Kind of like a piano. Measurements: 9.25 high x 15.5 Wide x 6 deep. It captivated me from the moment I saw it. Looking different from the usual Seth THOMAS clocks it looks like a 1940 clock.
Beautiful shape with beautiful gilt. I imagine a family watching the clock as they go about their daily lives. Bought at an estate sale and brought much attention from shoppers.
