The cartridge brass case features a hinged bezel, and unique perforated bottom, which allows sound to escape and resonate. The flange has three holes for providing for a bulkhead mounting.The outside diameter is 7" and its depth is 4". It has served at sea, and the case shows use. It is unpolished, and in its original condition. The Merrimac is a striking and historical piece to display as is - restored to its former glory it would be a true collector's item.
