Antique Seth Thomas Brass or Bronze Case Mantel Clock Barrel Pendulum Porcelain Face Runs. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Here is a nice Seth Thomas clock for you here.
Not sure of the model of this clock yet (any help in identifying would be appreciated). Probably dates to the early 1900s period based upon movement design. The case is made of either a bronze or brass. Most likely the material is bronze. Unique and interesting design to it.
Nice looking movement, case design on this Seth Thomas Clock. Seth Thomas clocks were made in the USA. The brass or bronze clock case is all there. No dents, cracks or repairs. Has a great art deco look to it. Beautiful designed case that comes to a peak on the top.The bronze or bronze case shows some minor finish loss and/or corrosion. Both the front bezel and rear door are on their hinges and securely attached to the case. The front bezel is in place, but the glass is not in it. There is blistering to the loose glass along the perimeter of the piece. The front feet had lost the pin that holds one side tight, was fixed by Clock Doc.
The clock face is very eye catching. The porcelain face is intact and there are no visible hairlines. Says, "Smith Patterson Company Boston" on the clock face.
They were a premier jeweler in that city at one time, not sure if still in business or not. Beautiful gold trim ring around the face. The clock hands match and look appropriate to this clock. The movement has the serial number of 53550 on it and the Seth Thomas logo. The movement was just recently serviced and cleaned by Clock Doc. Nice looking brass movement here with a wire gong. Most likely an 8 day movement.
Nice sound to the strike. Strikes once on the half hour and the number of hours on the hour. The clock does not run and strike as expected. Both springs feel sound when keyed. The clock has a beautiful barrel pendulum.
The clock will come with a wind key. We did not take measurements of the case before sending it out to Clock Doc. The Seth Thomas Clock stands approximately 10.75" tall, by 7" across, by 5.5 wide. The clock face is 305 across.
