Much of the nickel plating is worn off exposing the bronze underneath. Theres no cracks on the bell or housing and the bell sounds terrific when struck.
The face plate is not original. It is plastic and doesnt quite sit tight enough. The second hand catches on it sometimes and stops working which stops the clock. When I manually hold the plastic face down the second hand does its job and drives the other hands. After a wind I watched it for an evening and the second hand didnt stop once even without me holding the plastic down and it kept very close to accurate time. The reset switch on the 9 is working though the 2 padded strikers miss the bell by about 1/8 when I toggle it. The bells also try to chime at the hour and half hour but the strikers miss the bell. The labels on the back are gone though the original eyelets for hanging are both there with original screws and solid.
There are 2 small screws missing on the base of the housing. What an amazing piece of history. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. I will pack with care.
