By Seth Thomas Clock Company, Thomaston, Connecticut, circa 1910. Thirty-hour style key-wind time-only (with alarm) lever-type (balance wheel) movement. Cast iron electroplated base and formed brass clockworks housing.

It runs 30+ hours on a nearly full wind. The alarm mechanism is intact and operable. There is an alarm ON OFF lever on the front of the clock below the dial. This stop mechanism is functional and is important to keep the alarm from ringing for several minutes on a full wind. Typical for many of this version S-T timepiece, the formed thin brass sheet housing for the clockworks has numerous stress cracks in the brass around the circumference.

It has had an attempt at repair along the rear edges sometime in the past. Because of the out-of-shape housing condition, the rear brass pan does not fit tightly but does stay in place. The clock face (dial) is the original paper-on-metal with the original liner (retainer). The hour hand, minute hand, and alarm time indicator hand appear to be original to the clock.

The seconds bit is a replacement. The winding knobs and setting knobs on the rear of the clock are original.

The convex dial glass has been replaced. The tabs that hold the dial, liner and glass in place have been repaired.

Condition: Running condition but as with all old clocks there is no guarantee provided. Overall condition is judged as good but could be improved with replacement of the brass clockworks housing which will take some experience and effort. Could also be used as a donor for a similar S-T restoration project.

The clockworks have NOT been cleaned. Clock oil has been applied to pivots, gears and pinions. The alarm time indicator arrow on the dial appears to be about an hour ahead of the actual clock time (requires full disassembly to access the arrow or the clock hands for adjustment). 7-5/8 (19.4 cm) across the base side to side.
