Rare Beauty! Seth Thomas Tampa Variant Circa 1910 Overhauled in excellent shape

  
Presented for your consideration is this antique Seth Thomas "Tampa". Metal Mantel Clock, circa 1910. This beautifully stunning clock features the following. An original gold colored finished metal body with cast brass base and feet.

A Polished brass cylindrical case enclosing the movement. The Seth Thomas number 48 round eight-day time and strike movement.

An original Seth Thomas Silvered dial in excellent condition with arabic numerals and original hands. Hour and Half-hour strike on a strong, resonant cathedral bell-gong which you can listen to in the video below. With the exception of the rear door fabric, we believe that this clock is all original including the double-ended winding key! It has been completely restored and overhauled. It is ready to provide many years of trouble-free service to its new owner and would make a great gift for a person who loves antique clocks.

The case measures 14 1/2" wide by 9" tall by 5 1/2 deep. The following work was done to prepare this clock for your consideration. Has been completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and waxed. The Brass Cylinder/Body was hand polished and finished with high quality brass lacquer to preserve its restored appearance. The dial was carefully cleaned.

The rotted fabric behind the perforated back door was removed and replaced with a thick, dark, rich "merlot" colored silk. Has been completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected. Worn bushings were replaced where needed. The mainsprings were cleaned, adjusted, inspected and found to be good condition and were subsequently lubricated and reinstalled. Upon reassembly, some of the high quality synthetic lubricants used to lubricate all of the appropriate points of friction in the movement and mainsprings.
