Seth Thomas Aesthetic/Egyptian Revival Victorian spelter mantle clock 15x9x6 inches. Complete, case and movement undamaged, ticks with pendulum in place, strikes sluggishly, needs cleaning! C10 Description: Seth Thomas Aesthetic/Egyptian Revival Victorian spelter mantle clock, 15 inches tall, base 9 x 6 inches, patinated spelter original case, white enamel dial signed Mitchell Vance & Co. NY, original hands, 8-day time & bell-strike movement with pendulum, superb thick beveled glass crystal. Condition: Now examined fully by yours truly, a specialist in antique and vintage watches since 1971: Complete, ticks with pendulum in place, movement clearly needs cleaning, strike now works but sluggishly, hands set one-half hour off, needs quick push on the train to work as it should and strike with pretty bell tone, I have found a key to provide with the clock.
Dial has faint hairline next to 1 numeral, as shown, minor edge flakes around winding holes. Crystal is perfect; case has small patches of patination loss as shown. Please note the order of grading terms - Pristine - Mint - Excellent - Fine - Fair - Poor.
