Seth Thomas is known for high quality products and is one of the most respected brands in the world. This clock has patent dates on the bottom of the dial face, with last being Nov. The case is made of solid brass and mounted in hardwood.
The hands are made of blued steel. The bezel rim is beautifully knurled to provide a positive grip when winding and setting the time. To set the time, pull and twist the bezel counterclockwise. To wind, push and twist the bezel clockwise. What a simple and foolproof design.This clock was originally installed on the dash of high-end automobiles shortly after the turn of the 20th Century. Seldom appears on the market, and is highly desirable to serious collectors. Approximate Measurements: The wood measuring 5.5" wide by 5.25" tall. Depth: 2.25 from back of wood plate to front of piece.
