This is a Rare Antique 19th Century SETH THOMAS Walnut Parlor Mantel Shelf Alarm Clock with Rare Winward's Alarm Mechanism, made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company USA, circa 1888. It has a Beautiful Carved Walnut Wood Case with Applied Trim, and Reverse Painted Glass Tablet! The Dial is the Original Paper Over Tin Dial, Signed S.
It has a Signed Seth Thomas Brass Mechanical Key Wound Movement. A Label Inside the Clock (Barely Readable) says Winward's Grand Invention Musical Double Alarm Eight Day Clock.
The Usual Strike Train Has Been Removed From the Movement, and Replaced by an Alarm Mechanism with Two Clappers, Which Simultaneously Ring a Cathedral Coil Spring Gong Chime and a Bell Chime (Very Loud) at an Hour Set by an Alarm Wheel in the Center of the Dial. There is a Lever At The Top Of The Case to Shut The Alarm Off, Very Unique!!!There are 2 Winding Arbors, and It includes a Winding Key and Correct Regulator Pendulum. 21 1/2" Tall x 14 1/2" Wide x 4 1/2 Deep. This Clock Runs and Keeps Time, But Has Not Been Serviced! This is VERY RARE and will make a Stunning addition to your Home or Collection. This is in Overall Good Original Condition, As Pictured!
