Seth Thomas Chime No 7 4-Bell Sonora Adamantine Mantel Clock Completely Serviced

  

Offered for you consideration is the Seth Thomas No. 7, Four-Bell Sonora Chime Clock. Both movements have been completely disassembled and properly cleaned and overhauled.

All four movement plates were precision bushed on center where needed. All pivots were reconditioned, polished and burnished.

Mainsprings were cleaned, inspected, lubricated and re-installed. Quality synthetic lubricants were used and the clock was reassembled and all functions tested for a period of two weeks. The Adamantine Case has been cleaned and restored. Note that the gold accents on the columns are not original to this model.

As found, this clock had lost some of the Adamantine Finish on the column tops. The old gold paint was removed and the tops were refinished with simulated gold leaf. The vertical column accents were painted in antique gold. There is also some slight damage to the Adamantine finish.

This is most noticeable on the front lower right corner of the case. There are also slight dents and chips which are consistent with the age of this clock. Overall, we think the finish is in pretty good condition.

The four large Sonora Cup Bells are in excellent condition and have a wonderful, sustained tone during the Quarter Chimes. The hourly strike is on the largest of the four bells. The silvered dial has some wear and discoloration which is consistent with the clock's age. The Clock measures approximately 13 1/2" tall by 11 1/2" wide by 8 in depth. This model is from circa 1915. We think that this is a nice example of the Seth Thomas Chime No. It comes with an appropriate bob and double-ended winding key. Please note that the ST "Boy on the Fence" Bob used on the test stand in the photo above was for test purposes only. That "As Found" bob can be seen in the YouTube Video. Please look at the photos and video closely as they comprise an important part of this condition report. We guarantee this clock to be as described and to run trouble free for one year from the date of receipt.
