This nearly perfect example of a Seth Thomas 6 dia. Navy Marine Deck Clock in original black phenolic or Bakelite case with polished finish with steel spring power round eight-day signed movement TS inside a square inside of a circle with MADE IN U. Around outside of circle plus 5186 and 1-4 on brass movement, ca. 1942, original painted black steel face, no wear to original surface with white Arabic numeral 12 hour markers inside the chapter ring plus separate seconds dial.

The S-F adjustment, time stop (for synchronization needs), time set and winding arbors accessible from rear through black painted steel plate with sliding inside cover that closes to seal adjustment/winding access holes before closing clock case to bottom mounting bracket. Clock is signed below center arbor and centered below an N inside of a circle (Naval Observatory cartouche) with Observatory number 35441, 1942. Outside the chapter ring below 6 is MADE BY SETH THOMAS IN U. Clocks steel hands appear to be in original condition and with original white painted finish.

Black finished two piece phenolic case in original condition, that appears to have never been placed in service approx. At upper bezel, hinged on the left side (with original removable hinge pin secured to clock case by chain) and screw knob on right to secure case closed to phenolic base.

Black metal reflector ring inside Plexiglas lens. Clock movement is accessible from rear of hinged case and white rubber gasket between top and bottom case pieces appears original. Plexiglas is clear in like-new condition with small mar near center arbor. 4.5 (from rear base to front bezel edge), approx. 3 high x 7.125 dia.

For top clock portion and bottom mounting base width approx. And is complete including rear steel shock mounting plate beneath base casing with three mounting holes. Many examples of these clocks are missing this important shock mounting plate. Ive been acquiring clocks for years and this timepiece is now being offered for sale in order to expand our collection into other areas than U.
