Seth Thomas "Sucile" Adamantine Mantel Clock. Circa 1904 Please see full description. NOTE: It was my great-grandfather's. We have moved to a very small living space that does not afford us the luxury of using it. We would love for someone who appreciates clocks like this to get it, have it more thoroughly cleaned, and use it.
Celluloid yellow "onyx" columns and sides (one column on back left side is missing). Features a 1/4 hour bell and hourly gong strikes. Metal feet and column holders. The clock measures about 16" wide x 11" high x 7 deep. The bottom is stamped SUCILE but there is no date code visible. Most of the rear label is missing. Cleaning/service history (as written on the back of the case): 6/15/1916, 7/19, 4/4/25 and 3/34. The front cover opens, however, the key is missing. Case shows some wear, dust, and scuff marks. There is one column missing. The back cover is present and latches.It reveals the 4 1/2 89C movement which will need cleaning and lubricating. The hourly gong does sound. The quarter hour was not tested.
