I do not know too much about this banjo since I never saw one like it before.. I did remove and stabilize the two reverse painted glasses shortly after purchasing it to prevent any further lifting and paint loss.. The two original paintings did have a lot of paint cracking, there is some visible paint loss on the upper sections of the tablet above the borders..

There is a very nice German movement in the clock that is a non-jeweled quick beat type that does runs very quietly... I do not think the movement is original, but it looks professionally fit into the case.. I believe the movement should be cleaned, oiled, and adjusted.
