USA in the early 1900's. This particular clock is known as the Chime No. 6 Sonora chime model, which is highly sought after by dealers and collectors alike.

The stylish Adamantine case houses not one, but two full size movements. One regular Seth Thomas #89 time and strike movement plus a second large slave movement that plays the Westminster chime notes on a nest of 4 bronze bells. Both movements have been cleaned, serviced and adjusted and are in good running order. The case also boasts pillars that have been given the upgrade of metal bases and capitals. In case you are not familiar with Westminster chimes, these are the ones that play a tune every 15 minutes; 4 notes on the quarter hour; 8 notes on the ½ hour; 12 notes at the hour; and then the full 16 note tune on the hour, followed by the hour toll, i.

1 toll at 1:00, 2 tolls at 2:00, etc. The clock case structure is in very good condition with a newer solid wood back door.

The "Adamantine" finish, which is a patented laminate finish originating in the late 1800's, is also in good shape for its age. You should expect to see a little shrinkage at the corners and edges, some cracking here and there, and some touch ups, as well as minor denting and scuffs, which is the nature of the Adamantine finish.

The case measures 14 ½" high x 11 ½" wide x 7 ¾ deep. This is a nice clock model that is sure to enhance any collection.

It comes complete with the original key and pendulum. This helps insure that the new owner will have a satifying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, (with the exception noted below). It is nearly impossible to find one in "mint" condition.
