Offered for sale is a beautifully restored antique Seth Thomas Outlook #2 clock from 1921 that has been properly restored inside and out and is in fantastic Like New Condition! The original beautiful solid mahogany cabinet has been thoroughly and artfully restored and polished and presents most beautifully as it did in 1921!
The brass hinges have been removed and hand polished. The original dial is in very good condition with few blemishes has been gently cleaned and the brass bezel has been thoroughly cleaned and polished to it's shiny original luster. The hour and minute hands have been reblued and the hammer leather has been replaced. The clock chimes pleasantly on the half hour and a full traditional cathedral gong on the hour. The original Seth Thomas #89 movement has been completely disassembled, all parts cleaned ultrasonically and by hand. All of the wheels and pivots have been properly cleaned, polished and inspected for trueness before several new bushings were added to help insure that the clock runs accurately and for many years to come. The mainsprings that power the clock have been removed from their arbors and properly cleaned and greased and are very lively. The movement then reassembled and properly oiled and adjusted and tested on a test stand for several days before being reinstalled in the case and the clock has kept very good time for weeks. This is a most splendid example of a classic Seth Thomas original mantel clock that can be proudly displayed on any mantel or in any room in your home and could be passed on to future generations. This is an 8 day clock and needs to be wound weekly on both sides with the included 2 sided key with the small end for fast/slow adjustment. I would also be available for further set up and care instructions if needed.
